MMJ

CJ Maclin was born and raised in Memphis, TN, where his love for sports took root early.

A former college basketball player, CJ competed for two universities before discovering his passion for journalism—introduced to him by his father, the late Corey Maclin. Under his father’s mentorship, CJ learned the craft inside and out and landed his first journalism role at just 21, covering multiple NBA All-Star Weekend events.

Carrying forward his family’s legacy, CJ has built a dynamic career both on and off the court. He is now a devoted husband and father of four, balancing family life with a thriving career in media.

CJ launched his television career as a News/Sports MMJ and, within a year, rose to the role of news and sports anchor, spending two years in Monroe, LA. He then moved to Fayetteville and Little Rock, AR, covering the Arkansas Razorbacks across every major sport—from baseball and basketball to track, tennis, and golf.

His next stop was Tulsa, OK, where he served as a reporter at another station before joining the City of Tulsa’s Communications and Marketing team. But his love for storytelling never left.

Wanting to reconnect with the heart of the community, CJ returned to news, bringing his energy, passion, and family legacy back to the screen.

Today, CJ is a proud member of the 2 News Oklahoma morning show team, grateful to be doing what he loves: telling meaningful stories and connecting with the people who make our communities stronger.
