City of Mannford: 29 homes lost, 98% of city's power restored

Fires destroyed dozens of homes, damaged hundreds of buildings, and left four people dead.

In the aftermath of the fire, Gov. Kevin Stitt fired the head of the Oklahoma Forestry Service over the response to the fire.

When people reached out to 2 News Oklahoma questioning that decision, we started asking questions:


The March wildfires also triggered a fire at the Gem Dirt compost pit. Initially, crews planned to let the fire burn itself out, putting ongoing smoke into the air around the area.

When neighbors reached out to 2 News about the smoke and their concerns, we started asking more questions:


In 2024, allegations began coming out about the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center- specifically about how people in charge treated the teen inmates.

A civil rights lawsuit filed for 20 minors and one adult alleges that staff at the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center not only sexually abused them but that higher-ups knew about the abuse and did nothing.
