Sharon Phillips is a multi-award winning journalist born and raised in Tulsa, who considers it an honor to be reporting and telling stories in her hometown.

She has more than 15 years of broadcast experience in the Tulsa television market. She holds a Broadcast Journalism degree from Oklahoma State University. 

Sharon currently anchors the weekend evening newscasts at KJRH and works on special projects including her in-depth series, Oklahoma’s Cold Case Files. 

Over the years, Sharon has covered everything from crime, education, politics and community events, but her favorite stories to tell are the ones that truly make a difference in the community.

Sharon has a knack for getting others to open up and share their stories. Being a mom, she can empathize with others and it’s something she takes pride in.

Her goal is to always leave the interviewee better than when she first met them. 

Sharon has reported on multiple Emmy-winning newscasts and has several Emmy nominations and awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, The Great Plains Journalism Awards, the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and others. 

She has served as a board member for numerous organizations including, Emergency Infant Services, The Ronald McDonald House, and Joy in the Cause. She’s also volunteered her time at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, The American Red Cross, and Meals on Wheels.

 When she’s not anchoring the weekend evening newscast or telling in-depth stories, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to her husband, Bobby and they have two beautiful, children, Aerilyn and Eden. Being a mother is the greatest joy of her life and her most important role, and she is always striving to find a good work/life balance.

The family loves animals and rescued two dogs, a Golden Retriever named, Sophie and a French Bulldog, affectionately named, Cupcake.

Sharon loves to travel to exotic places and warm, beaches and her family loves to cruise together and look forward to spending time away each year.

In her spare time, Sharon loves reading People magazine, watching Dateline, trying new restaurants, taking warm baths and shopping.
