Weekend Anchor

Sharon Phillips is an award-winning journalist and weekend evening news anchor at KJRH, bringing more than 20 years of broadcast experience to her hometown of Tulsa, where she considers it an honor to tell stories that matter to her community.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in broadcast journalism, Phillips anchors weekend evening newscasts and produces special projects, most notably her acclaimed in-depth series "Oklahoma's Cold Case Files."

Through this investigative work, Phillips has dedicated herself to seeking justice and answers for victims and their families, giving voice to cases that might otherwise be forgotten.

She approaches each cold case with meticulous research and compassionate storytelling, working closely with law enforcement and families to shed new light on unsolved crimes.
Her commitment to these cases extends beyond the newsroom, as she continually follows up on leads and maintains relationships with families still seeking closure.

Phillips believes that every victim deserves to have their story told and that persistent journalism can make a difference in bringing resolution to families who have waited years for answers. Her empathetic interview style, shaped by her own experience as a mother, helps sources feel comfortable sharing even the most difficult details of their experiences.

Throughout her career, Phillips has covered crime, education, politics, and community events, but she's most passionate about investigative stories that can create real change. Her work has contributed to multiple Emmy-winning newscasts, and she has earned several Emmy nominations and awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Great Plains Journalism Awards, and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.

Committed to community service, Phillips has served on boards for Emergency Infant Services, The Ronald McDonald House, and Joy in the Cause. She has volunteered with the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, American Red Cros,s and Meals on Wheels, always striving to leave people better than when she first met them.

Phillips is married to Bobby and has two beautiful daughters, Aerilyn and Eden.
The family has a Golden Retriever named Sophie and enjoys traveling together, especially cruising to warm destinations.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching Dateline, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends, always working to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
