Douglas Braff is a multimedia journalist for KJRH. He joined the team in October of 2023.
Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, he is happy to venture outside the Northeast!
Douglas graduated from New York University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in history and creative writing. He comes to Tulsa from WJAC, where he worked in the State College, PA, bureau as an MMJ. During his time in Central Pennsylvania, he covered a wide array of stories – ranging from breaking news to Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, PA. During a summer in college, he was a college associate at “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace” in Washington, DC.
Douglas had a few “starts” in journalism. One was pretending to announce kickball games on the elementary school playground with a headset. In middle school, he was a reporter for the school newscast. Lastly, in high school, he wrote a satire article for the school’s newspaper. Although, he didn’t think about pursuing journalism until his junior year of college, when he began writing and copyediting in his free time for a politics editorial at NYU.
Aside from meeting new people and seeing new places, Douglas loves and always strives to learn new things every day as a life-long learner. He hopes viewers can learn something new from his stories.
When he’s not reporting, Douglas enjoys going for long walks exploring and touring museums. As a theater kid, he will always make time for watching a play or musical.
Douglas is constantly looking for stories to share what’s happening in the community! If you have any ideas, you can follow him on Facebook or Instagram or shoot him an email at Douglas.Braff@KJRH.com.
