TULSA, Okla. — Two Tulsa organizations that provide mental health and substance use services are joining forces with the goal of reaching more people seeking help.

Family & Children’s Services has acquired the Center for Therapeutic Interventions, or CTI, bringing the two organizations together to expand services in the Tulsa community.

Family & Children’s Services CEO Adam Andreassen said the organizations believe working together will allow them to better serve people who need care.

“We thought that coming together would really help the community in a big way,” Andreassen said.

CTI already provides addiction and recovery services, including treatment for people with opioid use disorders. Family & Children’s Services plans to build on those existing programs and expand their reach. Andreassen said the need for substance use treatment remains high.

“It’s also sobering, literally, because there is so much need and all of us are trying to do what we can,” Andreassen said.

As part of the acquisition, the organizations plan to bring their workforces and approaches to care together.

Andreassen said there will be no interruption in services because of the partnership. People already receiving care through CTI will be able to continue accessing those services.

Family & Children’s Services said bringing the organizations together will also allow them to strengthen the substance use care already available in Tulsa.

“Now to join us and say, ‘I think we can do more together,’ that’s very humbling and gratifying, and I think that the entire community will benefit as a result,” Andreassen said.

While the acquisition is complete, Andreassen said some of the larger results will take time. He expects the Tulsa community to begin seeing more of the impact of the partnership in 2027.
