Scattered showers and thunderstorms out-the-door this morning. A few storms could become strong to severe, with damaging winds and hail the primary threats. Locally heavy rain is also possible.
Once the morning storms move out, conditions will turn drier and hotter. Tulsa could climb to around 96 degrees. Southeast winds will be 10-15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot, with morning temperatures in the mid-70s and afternoon highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. Heat index values could reach 108°.
The dry stretch will be brief, as another disturbance is expected to move into the region Tuesday night, bringing another chance for thunderstorms.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-90s and heat index values around 102°. Thursday will remain partly cloudy, with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values near 100°.
Mostly sunny skies return Friday, with morning temperatures in the low 70s and afternoon highs in the upper 90s. The heat index could reach around 102°.
By next weekend, the pattern turns hotter and drier. Highs are expected to climb back toward 100°, with heat index values around 106° to 107° and breezy south winds.
While some areas will receive beneficial rainfall from thunderstorms, other locations will remain relatively dry. Localized fire weather concerns will continue until more widespread rainfall occurs.
