BLOG: Recap of the weather in October

Posted

Since it's November 1st, I thought it would be a good time to do a recap of what we went through weather-wise last month. See the graphics above in the media display.

First off, it was a very wet month for us. Even though we only had 11 days of rain (3 of those days were just trace amounts), we ended up with over 7". The majority of that happened on the 4th and 21st. The most fell on the 4th when 4.07" was picked up at the airport. On that day, Pawnee recorded about 8" where flash flooding occurred and took out a road.

On the other wet day on the 21st is when we had a squall line come through eastern Oklahoma and even had a Tornado Watch issued for all of Green Country.

In terms of the temperatures, the coldest morning was on the 28th when the low was 29°. This after a dry cold front came through and produced wind gusts between 35 and 45 mph.

Last but not least, the hottest day was on the 14th when the airport reached 90° before a cold front came through cooling us down again.
