After a very slight chance of showers early Saturday morning (we're talking before sunrise), it will be hot and dry this holiday weekend.
Afternoon highs will soar into the low to the mid 90s and it looks like it will be even hotter by late next week to round out the end of May.
Amazingly, all the records Saturday - Monday are 94° set at the Tulsa International Airport. We will mostly likely be +/- 1 or 2 degrees from 94°. See the explainer graphic above in the media player.
With the intense heat on the way, a reminder about staying safe. Never leave kids or pets inside cars, check up on people who don't have A/C in their homes, drink plenty of water (stay away from alcohol and coffee), limit strenuous outdoor activities, and make sure to lather up the sunscreen if you will be outside. Skin can burn in under a 1/2 hour in some cases.
Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!
