BLOG: Elevated Fire Danger

Posted

High pressure will start to make its move east allowing for low pressure to approach the state from the west. This will kick up the winds Thursday and Friday. Gusts could be between 30 and 40 mph.

The above bar graph shows what our computer model is suggesting for winds Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch because of those gusty winds and the humidity dropping to between 15% and 25%. In the past 2 weeks, we really haven't seen much in the way of rain in the Tulsa area.

The watch could be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning.

We'll keep you posted on-air and online.
