We had dual records set today, which is rare. It was certainly a spring and summer preview for sure.
The record low max for today was 60° from 1976. We only "cooled" to 61° Thursday morning at the Tulsa Airport. So, it was the warmest morning ever on the 15th, since records have been kept here.
Then by the afternoon, we soared to 82° in advance of a strong cold front. The old record was 80° from 1976.
Here are some other high temperatures from today:
Bartlesville: 81°
Coffeyville: 80°
Grove: 77°
McAlester: 77°
Muskogee: 78°
Okmulgee: 79°
So, how does today's warmth stack up with temperatures this time last year? I checked the Tulsa almanac and we had a high of 58° on February 15, 2017, but just 4 days earlier on the 11th it was 86°.
