Tornadoes were reported across the Houston area on Tuesday.

The City of Pasadena said there is tornado damage in southeast Harris County.

Structures were destroyed in the storm and there were reports of toppled semis on the roads.

The Red Cross and the Salvation Army were on the ground to provide resources, including clean-up kits and meals.

The city's police department reported that powerlines went down during the storm. As of Tuesday night, thousands of people in the area remained without power.

Throughout the afternoon, the National Weather Service was advising people to seek shelter in a sturdy structure.

"Our sincere thoughts go out to who were impacted by the severe weather and tornadoes today," NWS Houston tweeted.

The storm didn't stop in the Houston area. The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana said it experienced tornado damage.

It reported heavily damaged homes and downed power poles.
