TULSA — According to Tulsa police, a father charged in connection to child abuse is to be charged with child abuse murder after child dies in hospital.

On November 8, Police and EMSA paramedics responded to an apartment at Deerfield Estates near 91st and South Delaware Avenue.
Martrell Thames reportedly told police he laid the baby down for a few minutes and returned to find her unresponsive in her bed.
Thames was arrested on November 8 and booked into the Tulsa County jail on one count of child abuse by injury, officers say.
The little girl was taken to a local hospital, where tests revealed she suffered severe closed head injuries, as well as an injury to the torso.
Officers say the 2-month-old baby girl succumbed from her injuries Friday evening, November 15.
