TULSA, Okla. — Union Career Connect, a career exploration and service learning program for high school students, is seeking donations of bicycles for its annual Bikes for Kids project from Nov. 1-13.

Union CPT Manufacturing and City of Tulsa Automotive interns will work with adults to repair the bikes on Nov. 15 at the Union Warehouse, according to Union Public School officials.

After repairs, the bikes will be given to Union elementary students.

“This event gives our community a chance to help children who do not have bikes of their own," said Jenny Flower, Career Connect coordinator. "It also gives our interns a chance to build confidence in the skills they have learned in fixing things, and offers them an opportunity to use their talents to help bring joy to younger Union students.”

Officials say bikes in any condition may be dropped off at the Union Collegiate Academy entrance during school hours, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
