SKIATOOK, Okla. — Jason Gosnell, and his wife Lavia-Nina, are avid cyclists.

He got into riding to get in shape after the death of his father.

Gosnell said, "She started cycling so we could spend more time together."

This weekend, they are spending time in Skiatook at the John Zink Ranch. They are joining hundreds of riders taking part in the first fall Tulsa Tough.

The weekend will feature two different challenging cycling events. One takes place on gravel. The other is called cyclocross.

"Cyclocross racing is really interesting," said Tulsa Tough Executive Director Malcolm McCollam. "It’s been around for probably 100 years and it really evolved in Europe a long time ago in the winter."

Lavia-Nina Gosnell really liked the challenge it presents.

"It puts everything together that I've done in the past, gymnastics, ballet, the discipline from that, cycling obviously, a little bit of running," Gosnell said. "That's basically why I do this."
