A Tulsa teen on life support is about to give the gift of life.

The teenager was shot last weekend at a home in west Tulsa.

That family told 2 Works For You their son lives on - by saving others with his organs.

Kackarott Perkins, just 17 years old was placed on life support after a shooting last weekend near 49th West Ave. and Charles Page Blvd.

When it became evident Perkins wouldn't survive, the family decided to make the ultimate decision no one ever wants to.

“There's eight more lives being saved. There's a 13-year-old girl waiting for his heart right now," said Mark Perkins, Kackarott’s father.

“I'm proud of my son. once again this isn't my wishes. This is what my son would've wanted and I’m proud of my son. I’ve told him that forever...I’m proud of you dude. You dawned on your work boots and you stepped up to be a man and to me that's everything," said Perkins.

Tulsa Police detectives are still investigating.

They said when Perkins' passes, the case will resume as a homicide investigation.
