Tulsa police to focus on red, yellow light violations in August; fines of up to $250 possible

TULSA -- The Tulsa Police Department says it will focus on traffic light violations through the month of August and will enforce fines of up to $250.

TPD's Riverside and Gilcrease divisions will be focusing on light violations within their respective divisions, (Riverside – West of S. Sheridan Rd. & South of E. 11th St., Gilcrease – North of E. 11th St.). 

Officers will be randomly monitoring all major intersections within those divisions.

A citation for a red light violation carries a fine of $250, while a yellow light violation carries a $200 fine.

No warnings will be issued, police said.
