TULSA — Tulsa police on Tuesday afternoon released video of an officer-involved shooting earlier this month near a CiCi's restaurant.
The shooting happened May 10 at about 6:30 p.m. after officers were sent to 4800 South Peoria Avenue. The suspect, Derrec Shaw, had left his residence earlier in the day and was acting erratic and strange, police said.
Shaw fired three shots at a man in the parking lot of the CiCi's, striking the victim once in the shoulder.
Shaw then walked into the China Wok, and threw his hands and gun around spastically, and then hiding in the foyer area. When the second victim opened the door, Shaw opened fire, hitting him just below the lip, police said.
Shaw then fled to a nearby hotel, where he pointed a gun at a clerk and paced around in the lobby area before leaving.
Police said Shaw ran up onto I-44, firing shots at random cars. The initial responding officers used his patrol rifle and opened fire twice, killing Shaw
