Tulsa police arrest pursuit suspect on multiple charges

Tulsa police attempted to stop a vehicle Sunday evening for suspicious activity.

The suspect, Matthew Baker, fled the area leading police on a pursuit.

A police helicopter was called in to assist during the pursuit.

Baker intentionally rammed a police cruiser in an attempt to escape, the collision caused significant damage to the cruiser but the officer was not injured.

After a short while, Baker fled from his vehicle and broke into a residence in the area.

The homeowner was asleep at the time of the break in.

Baker left the first residence and fled to a second residence in the area, which belonged to his cousin.

At the second residence Baker barricaded himself inside.

Police surrounded the house and issued commands to come out of the house.

Baker's cousin cooperated with officers and confirmed the identity of Matthew Baker.

Baker eventually surrendered after a window was broken out in the home.

Matthew Baker was wanted on a felony warrant for escape, he is also being charged with felony eluding, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm as a felon, and first degree burglary.
