TULSA, Okla. - The first crew members to man the USS Tulsa will be visiting the namesake city this week.
On Wednesday, they will have lunch with Navy veterans, community members and the Commissioning Committee, which includes former Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.
They also plan to attend the football game this Saturday between the University of Tulsa and Navy.
The combat ship was christened in Mobile, Alabama in February and will defend the U.S. on the water with its high speed and endurance during emerging missions.
