PAYNE COUNTY, Okla. — State and local officials on Friday are searching a 10-mile radius for the body of a 29-year-old woman they say was murdered in late May and then dumped into the Cimarron River.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Chelsey Chaffin was murdered in the early morning hours on May 26, and her body was dumped over a bridge into the river.

Earl Oswalt, 54, a registered sex offender, is in custody in connection with the woman's death.
Authorities searched the river Wednesday, but did not find any remains. Crews are redoubling their efforts Friday.
The Payne County Sheriff’s Office, OHP, OSBI, Stillwater Emergency Management, Payne County Emergency Management, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Kendrick Fire Department and American Red Cross are all involved in the search.
Oswalt spent 20 years in prison on a 40-year sentence for first-degree rape.
