Search for missing Welch girls continues

PICHER, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, along with multiple law enforcement agencies, continue the search Wednesday for Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman, who have been missing since 1999.

Officials released an aerial photo marking the areas crews searched Tuesday along with the areas being searched Wednesday.

Black Pond was searched by the Tulsa police dive team on Tuesday, officials say.

Officials say the 1967 mine collapse site is being searched Wednesday by the dive team in an attempt to locate any evidence connected to the case.

Officials say Carroll Pond was drained and still needs to dry out before the cadaver dog can search the area.
