JENKS — PSO said power has been restored for thousands of customers in Jenks area

Early Wednesday morning, the PSO website shows one area has just over 1,100 customers without power. Another area shows around 7,600 customers without power.

PSO said a transmission line running between the Riverside substation and Sapulpa tripped and locked out.

Crews patrolled the line to see why it tripped. Officials said a cross arm broke, falling on other distribution lines.

Crews are still working on this structure, but were able to reroute and restore service to customers.

The line serves the substation at 116th and Elm. This substation serves approximately 8,780 customers, said PSO officials.

Just last week, crews worked a similar outage in the area of Turkey Mountain. Officials said this happens when the wooden transmission lines get old and weathered, causing them to break.
