TULSA -- Parents are concerned after a third scandal comes out of Edison Preparatory School involving a teacher’s alleged misconduct with students.

Tulsa Police are investigating a teacher accused of sending inappropriate messages to multiple students.

Jeff Turner, an Edison parent, said, “It's disappointing. You want to know where it originates. How does it get to this point?"

This incident comes on the heels of two students accused of breaking into the school and sexually harassing a nighttime custodian in November and a teacher caught on video throwing a desk in class several weeks ago.

Turner said, “As a parent, when you initially hear these things, you're hearing it through our group of parents and our social media outlet."

He says when it comes to behavior issues, funding is one of the main problems and the district is losing quality teachers.

He added, “Secondly, there might be a problem with the disciplinary policy that was implemented about a year and half ago, I believe, that has kind of taken suspension out of the teacher's hands."

But nothing prepared parents for news that came out this week - a teacher accused of sending students inappropriate messages.

The father said, “It’s worse when it happens in your community, but it seems to be a trend that's happening whether you’re in an affluent school district or not. I don't want to say it's just the way some people are today and it's really disappointing that it's hard to pinpoint who's going to be like that."

Some parents are also critical of the school's handling of the situation. Another parent, who didn’t want to be interviewed, told 2 Works for You she was not notified of the incident by the school until after our story aired.

Turner said, “I’m a little more patient. I feel as if they've put out information in a decent manner, not immediate, but I understand that there's a process. So, I'm not in as much of an uproar over the timing of information coming out."

We reached out Tulsa Public Schools today, and no new information was given. The school district is sticking to their statement from Tuesday, saying any allegations of inappropriate behavior will be taken seriously and will be investigated thoroughly, adding that this is a personnel issue.

Tulsa Police are also investigating, interviewing the students involved to see how far the teacher's alleged actions went.
