TULSA, Okla. — The man accused of shooting and killing a Tulsa police sergeant entered a plea of not guilty in court on Monday.

David Ware is accused of shooting Officer Aurash Zarkeshan and Sergeant Craig Johnson during a routine traffic stop in late June. Johnson died, Zarkeshan is recovering.

The accused getaway driver, Matthew Hall, waived his preliminary hearing and is going to trial. Hall is charged with accessory to murder and accessory to a felony.
Ware is charged with murder in the first-degree, shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm after a felony, possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and obstructing a police officer.
Ware's trial is expected to start June 7, 2021.
