TULSA, Okla. — Independent music venues across the United States are banding together to #SaveOurStages.

The National Independent Venue Association is a group of nearly 2,000 music venues in 50 states that are coming together to ask Washington for federal assistance.

These independent venues are small business that were the first to close, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and will be the last to open. They are completely shut down with no revenue, according to the Save Our Stages website.

Several Tulsa venues are members of the NIVA and are asking the community for help.

Tulsa's own Cain's Ballroom said they applaud the new bipartisan Save Our Stages Act.

The SOS Act would provide Small Business Administration grants for independent live music venue operators affected by COVID-19.
