Local business offers free meals to furloughed federal workers

TULSA — A Tulsa business is offering free meals to furloughed federal workers during the government shutdown.

The founder of Apple Barrel Café, Simon Khatib said in a statement that he wanted to give back to the community that has supported his family business.

With a federal employee ID, workers, their significant others and children will receive free meals.

The meals would be available on Monday's only from 2 p.m. to close at the 61st and Mingo location.

Customers would be able to order off the following menu:
