TULSA — A 33-year-old man who was arrested in late January in connection with a midtown Tulsa carjacking is now being accused of having phone sex with a medical worker.

The incident happened while Deric Spear has been an inmate at Tulsa County Jail, deputies said.

An investigation began in early May in reference to medical aid supposedly bringing in contraband to inmates in the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center.

After investigators tracked down a phone number for the medical aid under investigation, they found that on May 2 at 10:57 a.m., she had "phone sex" with Spear.

The medical aid, who wasn't identified in the arrest report, denied bringing in contraband to the jail but admitted to having conversations with inmates, and admitted to having the phone sex conversation.

Spear, who was already facing robbery, kidnapping, and gang-related charges, faces an additional count of making obscene phone calls.
