TULSA - A jury has found former University of Tulsa running back Tavarreon Dickerson guilty of child abuse murder; recommends life sentence with the possibility for parole.

Sentencing is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 18.

The jury began deliberations around noon Friday and took about eight hours to reach a guilty verdict.

On May 2, 2016, an arrest warrant was issued for Dickerson, who was charged in the homicide of his one-month old daughter Raylie on Jan. 10, 2016.

The infant girl was taken to the hospital after the child's mother said she found her not breathing.

Evidence from the medical examiner's office suggests Raylie died from multiple blunt force injuries.

The Child Crisis Center said at the time that the warrant was issued because Dickerson's story did not match the evidence.
