Historic Vernon AME Church asks public's help to fund repairs

TULSA, Okla. — One of the most historic buildings in Tulsa is asking for the public's help to fund much needed repairs.

Historic Vernon AME Church is trying to repair its building and provide new playground equipment for the community.

Established in 1905, the church is the last standing structure from Black Wall Street and the only building that remains from the Tulsa Race Massacre, according to church officials.
