Governor Kevin Stitt. is holding a special session to address the ongoing health crisis.
Last week, we told you how the Governor declared a Health Emergency for the entire state of Oklhoma.
The order allows health care professionals who no longer practice, to return to the front lines against COVID-19.
And protects first responders by helping them manage their personal protective equipment.
Governor Stitt will hold a meeting to discuss tapping into the State's rainy day fund.
He says because of coronavirus, the state will loose $416 million for the remainder of the fiscal year, which ends in June.
The rainy day fund has a balance of $806 million, with $302 million of that constitutionally available to supplement fiscal year losses.
And because the Governor has issued a State of Emergency, an additional $201 million could be freed up.
The session to confirm the declaration, and when it takes effect, will happen at 8 a.m.
