Former Tulsa Co. reserve deputy convicted of manslaughter transported to Lexington facility

TULSA (AP) - A former Oklahoma volunteer deputy has been transferred to a state prison where he will serve a four-year sentence for the shooting death of an unarmed man.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says Robert Bates was transferred Tuesday from the Tulsa jail to the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington.

In April, a jury found Bates guilty of second degree manslaughter for the death of Eric Harris.
