TULSA -- All proceeds of Saturday's "For the Love" concert at Cain's Ballroom will benefit the Kitterman, Edwards and Van Horn families who lost loved ones in the Purcell car crash.
Stephen Wilson and Robby Merrick are neighbors of the Van Horn Family, who lost a mother and son on July 17. They worked together to organize the event.
"Fortunately, we have a lot of charitable people with music backgrounds, so we thought a music benefit would be the best way to show the family some support," said Wilson.
A total of four musicians including Bryan Jewett and Nick Gibson played at the concert, donating their time in order to help heal through their music.
One of the surviving crash victims, 13-year-old Lauren Van Horn, showed up at the concert in a wheelchair, surrounded by her friends and family.
"Unfortunately, a tragic event like this doesn't stop the moment you go home," said Wilson.
Wilson and Merrick said the families will have ongoing medical expenses, and they're just trying to lend a hand through the benefit concert.
Cain's Ballroom donated the space for the event. There was also a silent auction and t-shirt fundraiser.
