TULSA – Two suspect were apprehended by Tulsa police Tuesday morning after leading authorities on a vehicle pursuit and prompting a school nearby to go on lockdown.

The incident started as a traffic stop, says Tulsa police, around 9 a.m. and escalated after the suspects, Enrique Cueto and Oscar Madrid, refused to pull over.

Police were forced to chase after the suspects at a wide-range of speeds and eventually stopped near the Gilcrease Museum Road and Apache.

Authorities say that Academy Central Elementary school was put on a temporary lockdown during the chase.

One of the suspects allegedly tried to escape authorities but was apprehended not long after the vehicle chase ended. Another suspect was apprehended by K9 officers in a creek bed, says police.
