18-year-old from Sand Springs dies in Tulsa County crash

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. -- An 18-year-old Sand Springs resident died Thursday morning in a crash two miles west of Sand Springs.

The crash just after 7:30 a.m. on State Highway 51 eastbound at 154th West Avenue involved a 2012 Jeep Liberty, driven by a 74-year-old man, and a 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by 18-year-old Jasmine Schneider.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report said Schneider died in the crash.

A 15-year-old child who was also inside the Ford vehicle was taken to the hospital with numerous injuries, officials said.

The cause of the collision and what happened in the collision are still under investigation.
