WEATHER BLOG:Probability of White Christmas

A White Christmas is hoped for by many each year, but what is the probability of a White Christmas in Green Country?

First, A "White Christmas" is defined as a day where 1 inch of snowfall fell or is on the ground on December 25, Christmas morning. According to the National Weather Service, Tulsa has about a 7% chance of seeing a White Christmas each year. The last time a White Christmas occured was back in 2009. On that day we had near 6 inches of snowfall on the ground on Christmas!

Unfortunately, this year it looks like we won't see a White Christmas. On Christmas Day we are expecting mostly sunny skies with highs near 40.
