WEATHER BLOG: Red Flag Warning today

Posted
and last updated

Strong winds are forecasted out of the south today out ahead of a cold front that will move through on Tuesday.

Our winds will be sustained at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph at times. We also have dry conditions out there. Relative humidity levels are around 20-30%.

However, it is still important for those doing any controlled burns today. The fire can easily get out of control with these strong winds and dry vegetation.

On Tuesday a front moves in and will shift the winds, however, it is a dry front. So importunately, we are not expecting any rain from this system as it moves in.
