A lot of the focus on a storm brewing for Tuesday, Feb. 2 is about the foot or more of snow so much of the country could see.
But that's not the entire story.
A good portion of the country is going to enjoy a weekend warm-up that'll make things feel more like early March than late January.

This warm, moist air in place is going to set the atmosphere up for a potential severe weather day from the Mississippi Valley up to the Ohio Valley.
January's already seen it's share of severe thunderstorms, and it appears February could be off to a bumpy start.
People will be digging themselves out from under all the snow behind this Groundhog Day storm system, but ahead of it, they may need to take cover from severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds, large hail, or even a tornado or two.
No word on whether or not the groundhog will predict that.
