• Track and Field - Live coverage of track and field finals features 2015 world champion Tianna Bartoletta and defending Olympic gold medalist Brittney Reese as U.S. contenders in the women’s long jump; first-time Olympian Tori Bowie, from the small town of Sandhill, Mississippi, in the women’s 200m; and a strong trio looking to put Team USA on the women’s 100m hurdles podium for a fifth consecutive Games. Elsewhere on the Rio track, two-time defending champion Usain Bolt runs his 200m semifinal heat and American Ashton Eaton concludes day one of the decathlon with one of his best events: the 400m.

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Daytime):
• Track and Field - Live coverage of track and field includes the start of American Ashton Eaton’s attempt to become just the third man to repeat as Olympic decathlon champion. Evan Jager also chases history, as he seeks to challenge steeplechase power Kenya and give the U.S. its first medal in the event since 1984.
• Equestrian - The United States targets a return to the podium in the team jumping final after winning gold in 2004 and 2008 but failing to earn a medal in 2012.

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Late Night):
• Beach Volleyball - Medal-round action in women’s beach volleyball under the lights at Copacabana beach.

NBCSN HIGHLIGHTS:
• Track and Field - American middle distance runner Evan Jager’s attempt to give the U.S. its first men’s steeplechase medal since 1984. Also in track and field, Ashton Eaton of Team USA begins his attempt to become just the third man to repeat as Olympic decathlon champion.
• Cycling - Coverage includes seeding runs in BMX, which debuted at the 2008 Beijing Games. American Connor Fields, who entered the 2012 London Games expecting to climb the podium but crashed in the final and placed 7th, returns as a medal contender.
• Table Tennis - Coverage includes the table tennis men's team final, with China seeking a third consecutive Olympic gold.

USA HIGHLIGHTS:
• Badminton - Coverage includes quarterfinal-round action in men’s singles. Two- time defending champion Lin Dan of China, known as “the John McEnroe of badminton” for his outbursts both on and off the court, joins compatriot Chen Long and long-time Malaysian rival Lee Chong Wei among the Rio medal contenders.
