Gundy named '15 Region 4 Coach of the Year

STILLWATER – Cowboy head football coach Mike Gundy has been named 2015 Region 4 Coach of the Year.

NBC affiliate station, KFOR, says the award was given by the American Football Coaches Association Monday, Dec. 7.

Gundy’s first time to be given this award was in 2011.

KFOR says the AFCA?recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association’s five divisions:?Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III and NAIA.

The winners are selected by active members of the association who vote for coaches in their respective regions and divisions.

Gundy and the other winners of the award will be recognized at the AFCA?Coach of the Year Dinner at the 2016 AFCA?Convention in San Antonio, Texas. The dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12.

OSU is set to take on Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl scheduled on New Year’s Day in New Orleans.
