TULSA - The Golden Hurricane are going bowling in Louisiana.
Tulsa will face Virginia Tech in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport Dec. 26.
It's Tulsa's first bowl game since 2012, and its first time in the Independence Bowl since 1989.
Virginia Tech won three of their final four games to become bowl eligible. This will be coach Frank Beamer's final game after 29 seasons leading the program.
Former Union High School and Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Justin Fuente will coach Tech beginning next season after being named Hokies head coach Dec. 7.
The Golden Hurricane have the 11th ranked passing offense in the nation that averages nearly 330 yards per game.
