OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Vionise Pierre-Louis scored 16 points with a career-high 15 rebounds for her first double-double and No. 24 Oklahoma pulled away in the second half to defeat Oklahoma State 61-43 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament on Saturday.
Derica Wyatt hit all five of her shots, including three 3-pointers, for 13 points. With four starters battling foul trouble Pierre-Louis and Wyatt gave the fifth-seeded Sooners, who play fourth-ranked Baylor, the league champion in the semifinals on Sunday, a 34-7 advantage in bench points.
Oklahoma (21-9) led by four at the half but after the fourth-seeded Cowgirls (21-9) tied the game with a pair of free throws by Brittney Martin, Gioya Carter had five of her 11 points in a 10-0 run that put the Sooners up 36-26. The lead remained at 10 entering the fourth quarter.
