Booker T. Washington Head Coach Conley Phipps has decided that his 30-year run in coaching is over, for now.

Phipps told the Tulsa World that he is stepping away from the profession to be able to watch his son, Trey, play basketball at Oklahoma. In three years with the Hornets, Phipps won the 2019 6A State title and finished second in 2018. In nine seasons coaching high school basketball (three seasons each at Cleveland, Sapulpa and Booker T.), Phipps' record was 172-63.

Phipps played for the Sooners for two years, before finishing his collegiate career at Northeastern State in Tahlequah.
