Busy moms are often reminded to make self-care a priority. After all, if you’re exhausted and stressed out, you can’t be as good of a parent to your kids as you might be otherwise. Still, setting aside the time for a spa appointment — which also involves hiring a babysitter to watch your kids while you’re out — can be more hassle than it’s worth! You may very well end up putting your personal needs on the back-burner when you have a million things on your “to do” list.
That’s why the idea behind Los Angeles’ Spa Lé La is genius. Not only does the spa offer complimentary in-house childcare for customers, it also offers prenatal and postpartum-specific treatments in addition to more typical beauty services.
Here’s an image from the spa’s Instagram, showing what it looks like. Their social media accounts are full of images of children as well as adults, showing how friendly the place is to parents.
For moms-to-be, Spa Lé La offers treatments that include belly facials, prenatal reiki and craniosacral therapy. Third-trimester mamas can even get a labor-stimulating massage to help prepare for the arrival of baby.
And naturally, such a lineup has attracted some star clientele. Here’s Daniella Monet, the actress best known for her stint on Nickelodeon’s “Victorious,” getting a prenatal massage at the spa.
The spa also offers an array of treatments for postpartum moms, from a lymphatic drainage and abdominal massage to epsom salt baths. A few of these are perfect for overwhelmed parents.
You can even book a room for napping! For $30, treat yourself to a 25-minute power nap in the spa’s “private napping suite” that’s decked out with soft linens and spa sounds. If you simply just want some “me time” to catch up on your social media or reading, the spa also allows you to book a pod in a shared quiet room where you can relax without any interruption. That costs $20 for 25 minutes.
You can rest assured your kids are enjoying some fun and relaxing activities as well, thanks to the spa’s kids’ classes and the on-site playroom with attentive staff members.
Spa Lé La is not the first business of its kind to cater to parents, however. Also in the greater Los Angeles area is the Mommy’s Retreat salon, which offers childcare in addition to hair, nails, waxing, and makeup services. Meanwhile, the Becoming Mom spa, with locations in Ohio and Kentucky, combines pampering spa treatments and ultrasound appointments for expectant parents.
What do you think of this new spa trend aimed at tired parents? Are you ready to book a treatment?
