Shelby Banks is an award-winning journalist who has spent more than a decade working in newsrooms across the country.
Banks is a South Carolina native and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Winthrop University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communications and Digital Strategy from the University of Oklahoma.
As a fierce advocate for local journalism, Banks has covered stories ranging from state elections, teacher walkouts, tornado outbreaks, and high-profile court cases.
As a part of her work with WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama, Banks holds a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Social Media.
