Royal Dragon Chinese Restaurant is preparing for their annual Chinese New Year celebration that will include dancing, music, and traditional Chinese food.
The number of reservations began growing quickly and restaurant owners added an extra day in order to meet the demand of people planing to attend.
The demonstration will be hosted in the restaurant parking lot and festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is a festival dating back hundreds of years and the celebration begins at the turn of the lunisolar Chinese calendar.
Each year, the day of the celebration falls on a different date and the year is represented by a Chinese animal zodiac sign along with it's reputed attributes.
2016 is the year of the Monkey and below is a list of things you should know to bring in the Chinese New Year:
- The Monkey is the ninth of the 12-year cycle of animals which appears in the Chinese zodiac
- Depending on the year and the day one is born can determine their Chinese zodiac animal
- Lucky numbers for people born in the Year of the Monkey are 4 and 9
