What’s in a name? A hurricane by any other name would be just as destructive, right?
While that may not be how the Shakespeare quote goes, it does shed light on the differentiating factor, which can seem like the only difference sometimes, between each tropical cyclone storm that comes around and how it is named: location.
According to the National Hurricane Center’s website, a different list has been made for four different bodies of water: Atlantic, Eastern North Pacific, Central North Pacific and other basins. The decision also depends on what year is it and what name was recently used.
