The Hillcrest Medical Center “Don't Bug Me” contest is underway and dozens of area students have submitted drawings for a chance to be recognized and awarded a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the influenza virus has peaked in March and early April of 2016 greater than usual and many more weeks of flu activity are expected to continue.

However, Hillcrest Medical Center along with the Tulsa Health Department and Tulsa Roughnecks are partnering together to educate young students in Tulsa elementary schools about the best ways to prevent the disease.

For the 12th year, Hillcrest Medical Center is hosting the “Don't Bug Me” poster contest and included members of the Tulsa Roughnecks soccer team to help judge the contest and crown a winner.

The winner will receive a surprise visit during school hours from members of the Roughnecks and a assembly will be held to recognize the poster and the winning student.

The winner of the contest will be announced later in the spring semester.
