TULSA-- D.O. Dustin Cupp, 5-49-5-56 "We don't know what we're going to run into we just try to be as prepared as much as we can."
Dr. Dustin Cupp and five other doctors with In His Image International and St. Johns Hospital are heading to Haiti. Cupp said they're providing medical help to the four million people suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
"We're being told that there's still a lot of walking wounded, so to speak, a lot of injuries and wounds, infections," said Dr. Cupp.
Doctors said the hurricane wiped out many towns and villages in Haiti, and some hospitals aren't able to function.
"That's really why we're there is to provide some temporary relief while they try to get back up on their feet and get re-established," said Resident Physician David Hibbets.
So they're setting up a clinic, traveling back and forth from the town of Jeremy to a nearby village to help those in need.
"We're not sure how many we'll see but we're expecting to go from early morning to dark and see as many people as we can see and then care for as many needs we can care for," said Hibbets.
Dr. Cupp said regardless of danger, he feels it's his duty to give disaster victims the medical help they need.
"God is leading us in the journey and from that perspective we just trust in him and that he'll take care of us," said Dr. Cupp.
