Posted

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – This week a Tulsa physician pleaded guilty after being charged of using a minor to produce child pornography.

Shelby Coleman, 38, was taken into custody in 2013 after investigators say he requested sexually explicit photos from a 16-year-old. Coleman was a medical doctor and partner of the Tulsa Women’s Health Center prior to being in federal custody.

Using cellphone text messages, the U.S. attorney’s office says, Coleman requested inappropriate photos from the teen.

U.S. attorney’s office went on to say that when the father of the minor discovered the conversations, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified. Coleman was apprehended by investigators after he traveled to Springfield, Missouri to meet with the minor for a “sexual liaison.”

Coleman is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole, up to a sentence of 30 years in federal prison without parole, plus a fine up to $250,000.
