High school sweethearts Drew Laden and Kathryn Holsten met at Bishop Kelly in Tulsa and since the engagement made promises to one another to keep the wedding simple.

After years of attending the weddings of close friends, one ceremony made an impression on Kathryn that she says gave her the idea to try something that has never been done.

“My friend got married in New York and had a really unconventional wedding and made me realize that I wanted to do it my way,” Holsten said.

Drew and Kathryn will be the first couple in the seven year history of the Easter Island Music Festival to say their nuptials and each has invited groups of family and friends to join the festivities.

Although the couple will share the special moment with hundreds of strangers, Drew says the moment will be unforgettable because of the how much they enjoy music festivals and bringing people together.

“One thing we've always wanted to do, hoped to do, and continue to do is bring friends together. That is  one thing we have always put a lot of effort into. This is one of those you can bring four or five, six groups of friends and family out to do what we love,” Drew said.
